Texas service of process cost estimator
Pick a county and how many people or addresses you need served. We show the official constable or sheriff fee from published county schedules, where we have one on file (24 of 254 counties), and link to certified servers in that county.
How the estimate works
- Official fee: the per-citation service fee from the county's published schedule, multiplied by the number of defendants or addresses. Government fees are charged per person served. If we don't have the county's schedule, we say "not on file". Check with the county clerk or constable.
- Rush and certified mail: we show the county's own wording when its schedule lists these. We don't guess surcharges.
- Private servers: prices are set by each server. The only Texas-specific range we can cite is a directory's statement that routine service
typically costs between $75 and $150
; see our cost guide for sources. We haven't run our own price survey. - Clerks may charge separately to issue the citation. This is an estimate, not a quote; confirm with the official schedule for your court. Fee data compiled October 12, 2026; see constable fees by county.
